McAuley Insurance Brokers Limited was founded in Richmond Hill, Ontario on November 1, 1988 by Robert McAuley. After working in the insurance industry since 1959 he decided that it was time to start his own brokerage. In 1991 Bob's son, Jeff McAuley joined the brokerage after working for a large insurer in their claims department.
As the firm was growing, Bob's son David McAuley came to work in the brokerage in 1993 after working for several years in insurance claims for various insurers. The brokerage moved to a larger office in Aurora, Ontario in 2007. In January 2008 Bob decided that it was time to pass the brokerage onto the younger generation and sold his interest in the brokerage to Jeff & Dave. Bob continued to work until he retired in April 2009.
Since that time the brokerage has continued to grow and additional staff have been hired as needed to ensure that our clients receive the best possible service. Our growth in size has been purely organic. We have never acquired other brokerages to expand our business. We have grown one client at a time by providing superior service and advice to our customers.
